Navigating the Dynamic Intersection of Corporate Boards and the C-Suite
There are unique challenges and time constraints faced by individuals who navigate their high-level executive positions and board roles. However, there are also benefits of starting your board career early, achieving rewarding opportunities and invaluable networks that can arise from this dual role. With a focus on striking a harmonious balance, our speaker, Gary Les, will share his insights, strategies, and best practices for effectively managing responsibilities, fostering collaboration, and maximizing impact. Whether you are currently serving on a corporate board, hold a C-Suite role, or aspire to do so, this interview will uncover insights into balancing both roles and harnessing the power of synergy between these influential spheres of corporate leadership. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a competitive edge and thrive at the intersection of corporate boards and the C-Suite.
Gary Les is the Chief Operating Officer at a middle-market manufacturing/distribution company based in the Midwest. In 2018 he joined his first private company board of directors, Wyo-Ben, a company that processes high-quality sodium bentonite products, and then an advisory board in 2019 called Untwine which is an AI, data-analytics, digital marketing and machine learning firm.
Gary will share the benefits of starting a board career as early as possible, how he built his board career and found opportunities, and some unique advice for other C-Suite Executives managing a board career. He will also share the important lessons learned on the board like “Noses in, Fingers Out”, and being mindful of your role as an effective board director.
