Mary has spent her career in technology and served as a CEO, Chair of the Board, and an Independent Board Director of public and private companies. She spent her executive career at Compaq, HP and Nokia in various general management roles, then moved into a full-time board career which she has been in since 2012.

Mary will be sharing her own personal story about how she built her board career, how she strategically chooses which boards she wants to join, and advice on how you can increase your chances of being selected to join a public company board. She will also share her unique experience with an activist investor, a major CEO transition, as well as not so obvious differences between US, UK and Canadian boards that we all need to know.
